2014 Subaru Impreza WRX

I always wanted to get a WRX so finally when the time came i was actually looking at a 2017 WRX. I didn’t have the amount of money needed for a down payment on the 2017 since i was a “first time buyer” when it came to financing a car. So the dealership i was at turned my attention to a 2014 WRX premium (my car) and i actually liked it a lot more than i thought i would’ve. there was just 1 tiny red flag i chose to ignore… “freshly rebuilt motor” done by the dealership (not a subaru dealership). i proceeded to get this car without knowing previous history, current mods, however many owners, etc. Stupid, i know. Had a lot of fun with the car though and to be completely honest, i probably beat on it a lot more than i should’ve. also slacked on checking oil even though i knew my rings were cooked and i was burning oil faster than i could fill it with oil. fast forward 11k miles into me owning the car… crankshaft decided to split in half on me. put a new shirt block in, milled and rebuilt the heads, replaced the turbo, water pump, drive belts as well as any other old, crusty, miscellaneous parts, hoses and lines that needed replacing. in the process of all of that, found out that the oil feed line to the turbo was from an old forester XT and was FORCED to fit, certain spots in the engine that shouldn’t be plugged were plugged up with random bolts as well as a huge cluster of jank, tacky parts thrown into the “freshly rebuilt motor”. but now she’s all tuned up properly, everything is done to spec, all correct parts are now on the car and now i know exactly what’s been done to the car. a lot of stress, money and heart break through that whole process but it worked out in the end.
