The Story

In 2019, I was searching for my next vehicle when I came across this 2013 STi with 12,000 original miles, very light mods, garage kept its entire life, and never daily driven. Having previously owned a 2002 WRX, I had always wanted an STi, so I picked it up.

Being that I was already familiar with the Subaru platform, I had a pretty good idea of the modification path I wanted to take with this one, and the parts I’d need, so i spent the first year of ownership gathering parts to do a turbo upgrade and flex fuel conversion. After installing the parts and getting tuned, I was able to get 440 whp out of the setup on e85…while still on the stock longblock. Fully aware of the risks, I drove the car at that power for a couple months until one day I decided to do a few flat foot shifts, and took out cylinder 2.

Off the car went to Prime Motoring in New Jersey for an IAG stage 2.5 closed deck short block and some built heads. After a retune with the new motor, we were able to bump the power up, making 490 whp and 430 wtq on E85 at 25 psi of boost.

After that, I decided to focus on other aspects of the car, installing a full Airlift 3p suspension setup, as well as some aesthetic bits, to give the car a good mix of “show and go”.
