The Story
This was my 4th and final Subaru purchase, I paid $500 for running and driving. previous owner before me had 5 other cars and this was the last one in their fleet that needed to go. they did all the engine gaskets at 190K miles and I bought the car at 211k miles. After the grand marquis was totaled I searched Facebook market place for the cheapest foresters that day and went to pick this one up a day later. it had bald snow tires on it and bad struts. Wasn't a big deal since it ran and drove home with no issue other then those two things. Did some research on Anderson design fabrication and order up some KYB struts and Subaru top hats and a 2/2.5" lift kit. I wanted a lifted Subaru to go with my slammed one. I found someone on marketplace selling the wheels and tires as a combo for another $500 so now I only had invested just under $2000 in total including the price of the car and tax and tags. The grill I spent a hard $400 on but the seller included the clear corners with it for me. I wired them into the fog light switch so they all worked at the flip of the switch. This was honestly the cheapest build I did and I wanted to keep it that way since it was very rough and rusty. It was the best cheap Subaru off-road build. I wouldn't do it again and I do miss this car but it had to go once we found out we were having another kid. We needed something larger for the family, you can reach the rear passenger door handle from the drivers seat. the kid I sold it to did message me again after he bought it asking about the grill and where he could buy another since he smoked a dear down in elkton, md. I did see him trying to resell it a few months later cause I dont think it would pass Maryland inspection.
