Mobbing in Style: Building the Ultimate Daily-Driven Atlas.

What started as a practical 2024 Volkswagen Atlas, a full-size 7-seater SUV built to haul a family of five has evolved into one of the most unique and well-executed daily-driven builds on the VW SUV platform.

Like most builds, it began with exterior aesthetics. A full Maxton Design lip kit gave the Atlas a more aggressive presence, followed by a set of 22x10 ET20 Rotiform BTL wheels that completely transformed its stance. But that was only the beginning. Once the vision started taking shape, the desire to push the platform further only grew stronger.

Under the hood sits Volkswagen’s EA888 EVO4 engine, a powerplant many enthusiasts underestimated in a full-size SUV application. With the addition of a Unitronic Stage 1+ tune, the Atlas was brought to life, delivering the power and responsiveness the platform deserved.

The aftermarket support for performance intakes on the Atlas is limited, so a custom solution was needed. Working alongside RES Engineered Tech, a one-of-a-kind 4-inch modular intake system was developed. The setup not only utilizes the factory grille air dam but also incorporates an additional cold-air feed sourced directly from a custom front bumper duct. Airflow is handled through a massive 5-inch AFE filter and complemented by a CTS Turbo inlet and CTS Turbo muffler delete, creating a highly efficient intake path.

To ensure reliable performance under increased boost, the ignition system was upgraded with APR ignition coils paired with NGK RS7 spark plugs. A Sprint Booster throttle controller was added to sharpen throttle response, providing instant feedback and a more engaging driving experience.

The exhaust system received attention as well. The secondary resonator and factory axle-back muffler were removed and replaced with a custom 3-inch straight-pipe setup. The result is a subtle but aggressive growl that perfectly matches the Atlas’ newfound personality while maintaining everyday drivability.

At this stage, the Atlas had become an unexpectedly fun family hauler—but something was still missing. It needed presence.

That’s where SqueakyClean Suspension stepped in, equipping the SUV with a complete air suspension setup featuring S Pro custom-valved 32-way adjustable dampers. The system delivers exceptional street comfort while allowing the Atlas to achieve the aggressive, laid-out stance that turns heads wherever it goes.

To complete the transformation, the entire vehicle was wrapped in VVIVID Vinyl Ultra Gloss Combat Green by CBD Wraps Auto Inc. The bold color choice perfectly complements the Atlas’ unique blend of performance, practicality, and show-stopping style.

Today, this one-of-a-kind Atlas stands as a fully functional, daily-driven air suspension build that effortlessly balances family duties with enthusiast passion. Whether it’s hauling the family, grabbing groceries, attending shows, or simply mobbing through town, this Atlas proves that a full-size SUV can be practical, capable, and undeniably cool—all while turning heads everywhere it goes.
