2008 Saab 9-3
The Story
The story to this car starts with my old 2007 SAAB 9³ Aero, which was lost in a crash. After which I bought my honda fit and realized that there’s a void in my heart that wants to be filled, a SAAB shaped hole.
So in July of 2024, I bought this 2008 SAAB 9³ Turbo X, bought with 217k km on the dash, and I’ve spent a lot of time fixing, and perfecting this car to be able to truly call it mine.
I’ve done every bit of work that has been done on this car myself (friends included), outside in -27 °C (-16.6 °F) or in the blazing heat of mid July and August. It’s safe to say a lot of pain and choice words have been spent to fix this car.
A special thank you to Rock Auto
Now for some specs:
The Turbo X is a one year only limited production version of the SAAB 9³ powered by the B284R, a 2.8L Turbo V6 making 280hp and 295lbft from factory. What makes the Turbo X special, is that it was used to showcase SAABS new AWD system, XWD. Made in partnership between saab and Borg-Warner, using a special version of Haldex 4 mated to an e-LSD.
Only 2000 of these Turbo X’s were ever made, of which only 100 were sent to Canada, of which are believed to be split roughly 70/30 Sedan to Wagon ratio and of the sedans about 30 were sold with 3 pedals.
If you are curious about anything, feel free to ask!
Thank you for reading the story to my car.
