2012 Mazda MazdaSpeed3
The Story
Here’s the story of my car (it’s a long one but worth all my love and money)
I had gotten into cars just a couple years back I got a 2019 Mazda 3 and fell in love with the looks of it but it was missing something and that was power. I ended getting hit in that car and thought it was going to get totaled so I was looking at cars and fell in love with the speed 3. Insurance told me they were going to fix the car I was bummed I was hoping to get a new car, as much as I loved my Mazda 3 I needed something fast and there’s were the speed 3 came in, I traded my Mazda 3 only 2 years after getting it and fell in love with the speed 3 it was good looking and pretty quick. When I bought the car it already had a couple mods done to it. It had a intake and an upgraded intercooler and an exhaust so I knew I need to get a tune asap, I ordered my downpipe and tune got it installed and began my tuning process, and for those thinking ZZB, yes it had HPFP internals ?. I loved how the car was I got my wheels from my last Mazda and powder coated them and lowered the car to finally get rid of the wheel gap and she was sitting and looking nice. Once I was fully tuned I took it to the drag strip a couple times were I ran my best time of a 9.4 1/8th mile on street tires, and never raced before, “at a track”. It was fun but I know I needed more upgrades to improve my times. That when I decided to just go out and upgrade my turbo, I bought all the parts needed I got a used intercooler that was barely used and a replacement crash bar for cheap, I bought a used turbo that only had “4k miles” on it, and a new turbo manifold all the supporting mods. I was so excited I did all the work myself and learning throughout the process and building my car the way I wanted it. In the process of installing my new turbo I came across some issues the car I had was from the east and a lot of bolts were rusted and kept breaking on me I had to replace my intake manifold because the bolts broke on me and other small issues but it didn’t stop me. The day came and everything was done and installed, I upload my tune to the car from Freektune and the car is smoking unusually alot so I turn the car off let it sit for a day and come back to it. I check for any leaks double check all bolts again and everything was fine I feared the worst and was hoping the “4k mile” turbo wasn’t blown I pulled off the intercooler piping and see it full of oil, mad and upset I almost gave up on the car. I was frustrated I hit up my friend that I bought the turbo from he says he got it from somebody that said it was good so my friend bought it,after checking for any unusuals he didn’t see any, for his car that he sold and no longer needed the turbo so it got sold to me. So I ended up with a blown turbo and wasted money he offered to help me replace it as he was short in money and wanted to help me. So here we are now I dropped my turbo off for the rebuild and my friend is helping me with everything until I get this car back on the road and finally get it to where I dreamed of it being.
