2016 Volkswagen Golf R

Since i was introduced to the VW/Audi world with my 2006 MK5 GTI, Ive always wanted a Golf R/R32. After about 9 years of daily driving my GTI, it reached a point in the build that I didnt want to drive it every day. So partially on an impulse & partially out of the need for a new daily driver, I began looking for Golf Rs for sale around my area. Only 3 were in the area, a black manual 2015 MK7 R, a white 2016 DSG MK7 R, and a black 2019 DSG MK7.5 R. The 7.5 R was just out of my budget, but luckily the other 2 were at the same dealer. After looking at both, I choose to testdrive the 2016 white DSG Golf R (it had less miles and the interior was in better shape). I came back a few days later to purchase it.

My 2016 Golf R MK7 with 85k on the odometer about 24h before Wookies in the Woods 2021. Immediately after pulling away from the dealer, I went to my buddys shop about 15min away (305vdub), and did a few upgrades to the engine & suspension. Then, I beat the everloving-shit out of my new MK7 R for 4 days straight on the Tail of the Dragon & the Blue Ridge Parkway.

When I purchased the MK7 R, it came with H&R sport springs, ECU and TCU tuned by APR, Konig Rennform wheels either Michelin PS4S tires, and a no-brand downpipe with the factory resonator removed. Before WITW 21 I installed a Racingline catchcan, Unitronic Aluminium Turbo Inlet Elbow, IE intake & Intercooler, and a Neuspeed 25.5mm rear anti-sway bar. Later, I did a hybrid turbo and supporting mods to get a bit more power.

I'm having my fun with the current setup (makes around 400hp+ on its 93file and around 450hp on ots e85 file), however when the engine blows, I'll either DAZA 2.5T 5cyl or VR550T swap the engine (haven't decided yet if I want a VR6T or a 5cyl turbo).
