2005 Volkswagen GTI

I first saw this car about two years ago, I had gotten a new job and this kid at work would walk around with a steering wheel so one day I asked him like hey what do you drive. He told me it was a mk4 gti and he let me come look at it. I instantly fell in love with the car and he took me for a ride and I was just insanely happy. I knew I wanted one.

The car was pretty much stock and he knew I was interested in the car so he invited me over to help work on it and learn about it. So I helped put in a lot of the parts that are on it now. Well fast forward to June of 2023, the kid reached out to me and said hey I’m gonna be selling this if you are interested, now I had been looking well over a year for a mk4 with no luck so of course I said yes. I overpaid for the car by a lot but I knew it was a car that I loved and was willing to pay for it.

The downfall like any mk4 is that it’s always breaking, it’s always one thing after another. I bought my b5 s4 in September and I wanna say like mid September my thermostat went out on my mk4 and in the process of replacing it I snapped two vacuum lines and my secondary air injection. Well I got all that fixed and then my clutch decided to give up on life and since I’ve had two cars I have ignored my mk4 since. I do have a clutch coming for it finally (big shoutout to my girlfriend for that) and should be getting it on the road soon.

My plans over the winter is to get the clutch installed, but the car entirely which I’ve started doing and then do everything necessary for big turbo and making it a light, fast, fun, daily driver/ track car.
