1999 Porsche 911

Meet Sally, my very special Porsche 911. She's uniquely optioned and painted in a rare paint-to-sample color!

After two years searching for my 'dream' 996, I stumbled upon a listing on FB marketplace for a blue 996. Sally was a diamond in the rough. She had aftermarket rims, stereo, and other questionable mods done by the second owner. But I looked past that and saw potential.

The next day I drove three hours with my best friend to see the car in person. It was there that I checked the option codes under the hood, and discovered that Sally wasn't Lapis Blue, as I expected, but was a paint-to-sample car! I bought it there on the spot. Finally, my search was over. I had found my forever car.

The cherry on top was that the first owner had the car for over 15 years, and was as fastidious with preventative maintenance as he was with record keeping. I inherited the original window sticker and stacks of records going back to '99! Before you ask--yes, the IMS bearing was replaced.

The second owner may have tarnished the originality, but thankfully he kept the original parts. I spent the first few months bringing Sally back to OEM perfection. Afterwards, I made lots of subtle tweaks to improve the car without detracting from it's originality. Such as a cleaner looking radio with CarPlay, Cocomats, and a fabricated 1.5" muffler bypass pipe known as the 'Gundo hack'--a common mod for 996's.

Sally and I have been on many adventures and road trips in the two years that I've owned her. We've driven halfway across the country, gone through blizzards, and even hit the drag strip. I've never felt more connected to a car like I have with Sally. We're both 90's kids, and I can't wait to grow old and make many more memories with her in the years ahead.
