The Story

The Series 1 Lotus Evora was the first new Lotus model since the Elise and was sold from 2010 to 2014, with just over 1,100 cars produced for the US market. This Evora is 1 of 241 cars built for the 2010 model year and 1 of only 8 painted in Solar Yellow. Staying true to Colin Chapman’s philosophy of lightness first, the Evora has a curb weight of only 3,047 pounds, thanks in part to Lotus’ all new Versatile Vehicle Architecture (VVA), which results in a chassis that weighs under 500 pounds. It is powered by a Toyota 3.5L V6, the same engine found in a Camry or Venza, but tuned by Lotus for 275 horsepower. When it arrived on the market, it was the first mid‑engine 2+2 sports car since the Ferrari Mondial.

I found this Evora for sale in Orlando, Florida and spontaneously flew from Boston to see it and buy it. It had been my lifelong goal to own a Lotus by my 30th birthday, and I secured this one in 2025 with just weeks to spare.
