1995 Honda del Sol
The Story
———Project under construction———
I always dreamed of one day owning a Honda Del Sol and that dream has come true. I purchased this car in 2019 in non running condition. I got it running only to find out the engine was a ticking time bomb because at some point when doing a timing job somebody chipped the crankshaft keyway by installing the crank gear backwards. I fixed all of this the best I could without replacing the crank and about 6 months and 10k miles later the engine died on my way to work. Thankfully, I was able to source a cheap engine with decent mileage (150k) from Facebook marketplace and get the Sol up and running again.
The newer engine has been running fine for a while now and I’m currently in the process of building a vitara/turbo setup.
As far as cosmetics go, she’s got the typical Honda rust spots and is gunna need a lot of body work in the near future. The rust is minimal but definitely need attention soon.
