1988 Volvo 740
The Story
This was somewhat of an impulsive purchase, but it's hard to go wrong for $900. I was browsing the internet for Volvo wagons exploring pricing when I came across one that needed to be sold. This gem popped up in Lynchburg, Virginia with very few repairs necessary. Other than non-functional air conditioning, the car runs and drives flawlessly. When I saw it was under $1000 to add a Volvo wagon to the fleet, I had to jump on it.
Immediately, two friends and I drove from Baltimore, Maryland down to Lynchburg, Virginia, a 4 Hour drive to go check out the wagon. Upon arrival, I knew I had to bring it home, as it was used as a daily driver on a college campus, which I thought was a very cool story.
As for modification plans, I'm not sure if there are any. I'm definitely considering lowering it, potentially adding wheels, but other than that, I like the blandness of a beige, automatic station wagon.
