2024 Mazda MX-5
The Story
I needed a new daily and I asked myself what could replace my MK7 TDI wagon? After much consideration, I decided on one model that I had repeatedly admired over the years. As the saying goes, Miata is always the answer.
With this decision, I joined the Maryland Miata Club, sat in many cars, test drove a few, and finally placed my order in February: a red soft top with the special Recaro seats and BBS wheels. Then I waited, and waited, and waited some more. I went to more events and drove more Miata's in the meantime. I knew what I wanted, I just had to be patient. Finally, I got the call I was hoping for. The dealership called in June, but unfortunately told me they were unable to get what I had ordered due to part shortages and delays.
After all this time I wasn't going to take no for an answer. That same day a customer had backed out of their Miata order in Ohio, leaving the perfect car available for me. I jumped at the opportunity and a few days later took a flight into Dayton to pick up my new 2024 Mazda Miata. 500 miles later, it's home in Maryland and it was absolutely worth the 4 months it took to finally buy the right one.
I later installed the Goodwin Racing RoadsterSport Super Q muffler to achieve a little better sound while cruising. During the winter, I am running bright silver Enkei PF01’s with Continental Viking Contact 7 snow tires to make it my year-round daily. I also got the vanity plate “G0 CART” as a play on words with my name.
