This GR Corolla Widebody Build Is Unlike Anything You’ve Seen
The Toyota GR Corolla arrived as one of the most exciting enthusiast cars in years. AWD, manual transmission, rally inspired engineering, and a platform that practically begged to be modified. It was an instant favorite. But while most GR Corolla builds follow similar modification paths, this widebody GR Corolla from @grrawr.bunny went somewhere else entirely.
This was never a bolt on project. The vision was a rally concept car that escaped onto public roads and still had to function as a daily driver.
The result is one of the most unique GR Corolla builds on the road today. See the full build here.
One of the First Pandem Widebody GR Corollas in the World
When this build first got underway, the Pandem widebody kit for the GR Corolla had barely made its way into existence, and this was reportedly the first one to ever be installed in the United States and only the second one in the entire world at the time the project began. There was no community of builders to reach out to, no dedicated forum thread buried somewhere with the answers, and no existing build to use as a reference point.
Every wheel spec, every clearance measurement, and every fitment decision had to be worked out through real experimentation because there was simply no existing data to pull from. Most builders get to skip a huge part of that headache by borrowing from what other people have already figured out, but these owners were operating completely in uncharted territory from the very beginning, which makes the final result even more impressive when you see how cleanly everything came together.
GR Corolla Wheel Fitment and Stance
When you first see this car in person, the proportions are genuinely the first thing that stop you in your tracks because the wide-body kit completely transforms the silhouette of what is otherwise a relatively compact hatchback into something that looks like it was pulled straight off a concept car stage. The 20×13.5 Rohana RPM1 three piece wheels filling out those widened fenders play a huge role in that, and the AirTekk air suspension means the car can go from a composed daily driver to completely slammed on the ground depending on what the moment calls for. At a show with the car laid out, most people do a double take trying to figure out if it’s actually street driven or just a static display piece.
Beyond the fitment itself, the custom Gazoo Racing inspired livery, Seibon VS Style carbon fiber hood, and gold titanium hardware accents sprinkled throughout the exterior all work together to make sure every single angle of the car has something going on. It never feels like the build ran out of steam halfway through or like certain areas were treated as afterthoughts just to get the car finished, which is honestly more rare than it should be when builds get this ambitious in scope.
Titanium Engine Bay Build on the GR Corolla
One of the build’s most distinctive elements is just how much titanium is woven throughout the car. RK Titanium components show up almost everywhere you look:
- Titanium ram air intake
- Titanium signature dual exit exhaust
- Titanium intercooler piping
- Titanium throttle body inlet
- Titanium engine bay accessories
Combined with carbon fiber details and DressUpBolts gold titanium hardware, the engine bay carries the same level of craft as the exterior. This GR Corolla build feels cohesive, not just expensive parts thrown together.
GR Corolla Performance Modifications
The show car looks don’t tell the whole story. Under the surface, this built GR Corolla was heavily modified for performance:
- Bosch 980cc injectors
- Jackson Racing stepped core intercooler
- OffTheLine Performance catted downpipe
- ECUTek tuning by Graham Gaylord
- RacerX Fabrication drivetrain components
- CAE Ultra Shifter
The owners give specific credit to Graham Gaylord, RK Titanium, RacerX Fabrication, and VelossaTech for supporting the build throughout its development. This isn’t a car cosplaying as motorsport inspired. It genuinely reflects rally and time attack influence while staying street driven.
Why They Chose the GR Corolla Over a BMW or Audi
Before landing on the GR Corolla, the owners considered platforms like the BMW X3 M and Audi RS3. They walked away from both, deciding they’d rather invest in building something truly personal than spend more money on something that already existed.
That call ended up producing a GR Corolla build far more unique than either option would have.
“We love small hatchbacks and fell in love instantly with the no nonsense approach Toyota took with the GR Corolla. They didn’t make a souped up Corolla. They made a rally car with a Corolla badge.”
That philosophy became the blueprint for everything.
More Than Just a Modified Car
Beyond the parts list, this GR Corolla build is something the owners created together as a couple, selecting components, attending shows, and wrenching side by side.
“It’s been an awesome time for my wife and I as a couple. We’ve loved picking out and installing parts together, going to car shows and meets, meeting new people and making connections. Working on the car together has been a lifelong dream come true.”
That personal investment is ultimately what makes this widebody GR Corolla memorable. The fitment grabs your attention first. The story behind it is what makes it stick.

What’s Next for This GR Corolla Build
The build isn’t finished. Flex fuel tuning is on the horizon, along with interior upgrades including race seats, steering wheel changes, and entertainment system updates.
Given the level of detail already throughout this GR Corolla, the next phase will only push the platform further.
