2013 BMW X3
The Story
Purchased my 2013 X3 xDrive 28i, which I lovingly refer to as the dadwagon, bone stock back in August 2020 as I (urgently) needed a daily driver. It's an absolute base spec X3 by 2013 standards, meaning it didn't even come with the iPhone 4 dock charger in the glovebox (thank god) or a sunroof, which I'm glad was left out of the build sheet given that I live year-round in hot & humid SWFL.
Originally the interior was Chestnut Brown, but nearly all of the leather was faded with a handful of questionable stains on the seats. So, I bought an OEM Coral Red leather dye kit (X3 never came w/ coral red interior) and went to town on every piece of leather in the cabin in an effort to make it feel new again.
Everything else was either what I call a 'preventative upgrade' - replacing old/worn/broken original parts with an upgraded aftermarket version, such as the coilovers, - or purely for the hell of it, like the custom steering wheel/muffler delete/m sport conversion.
