1998 Toyota Corolla

The Story

This was my dad's first car, bought all the way back in 98. He drove this car for years and years, until the starter died in 2013, which is when it sat in the driveway. As a kid I always had a curiosity about this car, so when I got older, and more daring, I would sneak out of the house with the key to it, and just sit in the car. I spent a whole summer cleaning every part of the car, waiting on my dad to finally pull the trigger on a new starter. This did eventually happen, but when the shop had the car, they slammed a tow truck into the passenger side door. Instead of fixing their mistake, the shop decided to offer to scrap the car, stating that the engine was bad, and not tell anyone about the damage to the door. Unfortunately, being a Toyota, the car stubbornly refused to die, and it fell upon my hands, where I drove it through my last year in highschool and throughout university. Recently the car was crashed, snapping the front suspension and it is now currently sitting in a driveway, eager to be fixed when the winter ends.
